Preparation Note Tubocurarine hydrochloride pentahydrate is soluble in water at 50 mg/ml (with heat as required) and yields a clear to slightly hazy,colorless

to yellow solution. It is also soluble in methanol and ethanol.

Application

Tubocurarine has been used as an acetylcholine receptor (AChR)-blocking agent for electromyographic studies in rat models of myasthenia

gravis7. It has also been used to inhibit nicotinic AChRs in rats. This study reported that tubocurarine decreased motor axonal regeneration8.
